Call center planning can be a difficult and time-consuming task, but it’s essential for forecasting demand and being prepared. 
To make things easier for our WFM director, I used my full-stack web development skills to create a web app that automates the process. 
Using PHP Laravel, MySQL, and React JS, the app can quickly calculate production capacity and generate reports, freeing up valuable time and resources for our WFM to focus on other important aspects of call center management. 
Here’s how I did it:
1.After analyzing the workflow, I found some pain points. 
Talking to my WFM director, I learned how he uses Excel spreadsheets 
to forecast and plan for the call center. These spreadsheets contain historical call volumes, average handle times, attrition rates, and more.
However, the process was tedious and error-prone, requiring manual updates, formula copying and pasting, and finding inconsistencies. 
He had to spend hours every month creating charts and tables to present his findings to management. 
2. Built with PHP Laravel, MySQL, React JS, Bootstrap, and Chart JS, the web APP has three main features:
Data input: Users can upload CSV files or manually enter data on a web form. This includes call volumes, handle times, attrition rates, and more.
Data processing: The app validates, stores, and calculates data using Laravel. It generates reports on production capacity, staffing needs, and service level performance.
Data visualization: Using React JS, the app renders dynamic charts and tables. Users can filter, sort, and export data with responsive design for mobile devices.
3.I tested and deployed the web app 
using Laravel’s and React’s testing libraries , checking for bugs, errors, and performance issues 
. Next, I had my WFM director test it with real data and give me feedback

My excitement peaked as he expressed his amazement 
! The web app saved him loads of time and effort 
, allowing him to do his forecasting and planning in minutes 
. He even complimented the app’s user-friendliness and ease-of-use 
, specifically the ability to view data in various formats and export them as PDF or Excel files 
.
I put my web app on an Ubuntu server with Nginx for better control and faster performance. 
I set up monthly database backups with a cron job to avoid data loss. 
Plus, I automated tasks like daily cleanup and weekly email updates to improve the app’s efficiency. 
Overall, these changes keep the app running smoothly on the Ubuntu server with Nginx.
